MDi Privacy Policy
Your privacy is
important to us. The following Privacy Policy describes the
types of information we gather and how we use it. If the
information practices of MDI Inc. change, we will let you know
by posting the Privacy Policy adjustments on our Web site. In
addition, we will notify you via email of any such changes
before we use your personal information in a manner not
previously disclosed in our Privacy Policy.
Use of Information by MDI
We gather certain types of customer
information in an effort to improve your user experience and
to communicate with you about our products, services,
promotions and contests. We may also use this information to
help us develop and improve our site, tailoring it to suit
your interests.
Information Collected by
MDI
Our site collects two types of information about
users: personal information (such as name, email address,
mailing address and phone and credit card numbers) and
aggregate information (such as information about how many
users log on to our site on a daily basis).
Personal Information Collected Online by
MDI
Personal information is collected online when users
voluntarily register with MDI to purchase items, receive
electronic newsletters, answer surveys and enter contests as
well as other promotional opportunities provided on our site.
We also maintain a record of your product interests and
purchases online.
Aggregate Information Collected
Online by MDI
Aggregate information is non-personally
identifiable/anonymous information about you, such as types of
products purchased or pages you access most frequently.
Aggregate information is used in a collective manner, and no
single person can be identified by that compiled information.
For example, the number of people who purchased a Child Health
Passport is aggregate information which does not personally
identify a specific user.
Sharing Information
Collected Online with Third Parties, Consultants and
Affiliates
MDI does not share, sell or trade your
online personal information with third parties. We do not
contribute to or participate in cooperative databases, giving
other companies access to such personal information. For
privacy purposes, information relating to our customers is
stored on a highly secure server, and all credit card
information is transmitted in an industry-standard
SSL-encrypted format to protect sensitive data. Your credit
card number is used for your purchase only and not saved in
our database. To make subsequent purchases, you must enter
your credit card again.
MDI may share personal
information gathered online if such information is subpoenaed
or required by law or if MDI believes that unlawful acts or
acts that may endanger the health or safety of another user or
of the general public have been committed.
Use of
Cookies
A cookie is a small data file that Web sites
often store on your hard drive. A cookie contains information
(such as a unique user ID) that is used to track the pages of
the site you visit and other information you voluntarily enter
while navigating the site. MDI uses cookies to customize your
user experience, making it more enjoyable and efficient the
next time you visit.
MDI also uses cookies to measure
activity on our site, which allows us to determine which areas
and features of our site are most popular. This information
allows us to make improvements and updates to enhance your
experience on our site.
You are always free to decline
use of our cookies by turning them off within your browser.
Please note that if you elect to turn off our cookies you may
not be able to use certain features of our site, including
purchasing products from MDI.
Security and
SSL
Protecting your order information is a priority for
us. We use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to protect
the security of your online order information.
To
check the security of your connection, look at the lower
left-hand corner of your browser window after accessing the
server. If you see an unbroken key or a closed lock (depending
on your browser), then SSL is active and the server is secure.
You can also double-check by looking at the URL line of your
browser. When accessing a secure server, the first characters
of the site address will change from "http" to "https."
Some versions of browsers and firewalls don't permit
communication through secure servers. In that case, you won't
be able to connect to the server and therefore won't be able
to place an order through an insecure connection. If you
cannot access the secure server for any reason, please place
your order by phone at 1-800-MDI-LIFE (1-800-634-5433).
Email and Electronic Newsletters
MDI may
offer electronic newsletters and emails as a service to our
users. You will only receive a newsletter or email if you
choose to receive them during checkout.

Children and Privacy
MDI is
concerned about the safety of children when they use the
Internet. We encourage parents and guardians to spend time
with their children online and to be familiar with the sites

personally identifiable information from anyone under the age
of 13 without prior verifiable parental consent.
Links to Other Sites
MDI may contain links
to sites other than our own. Those sites may not follow the
same privacy policies as MDI. We have no responsibility for
those sites and provide these links solely for the convenience
of our visitors. Such links may be to advertisers, content
providers or partners who may use our products and/or services
as a result of a co-branding agreement. These sites may send
their own cookies to you and may collect information and use
it in a way inconsistent with MDI’s privacy policy. MDI does
not control the content that appears on these sites and takes
no responsibility for their content, nor should it be implied
that MDI endorses or otherwise recommends such sites or their
